It involves top quality clothing, good accessories and top of the line personal care. Grooming and beauty consciousness has seeped into the male psyche like never before and the numbers are growing with each passing day.

Hair massages, beauty creams, nose jobs, accessories, shampooed and conditioned hair, bleached skin, arched eyebrows, manicured nails, expensive perfumes, cucumber scented aftershaves, moisturizers, jojoba neck gels, wrinkle-free creams and the latest fairness creams are just some of the male grooming techniques available at specialist salons for men. Male Grooming: Essential Part of a Man's Personal Hygiene
As a man, it is very important to take care of oneself in terms of personal hygiene and male grooming. Personal grooming best practices are important if you want to look good and be attractive to the opposite sex.
Grooming has existed for as long as man has walked this earth, although of course has varied and evolved over time. Back in 10,000 B.C., scented oils were commonly used for grooming, as they covered up body odour and cleaned and softened the skin as well.
Examples of concoctions used for male grooming in ancient Egypt include kohl (an eye cosmetic used for darkening the eyelids and as mascara) and red ochre (an earth pigment producing a reddish tint). All sorts of cosmetics used during ancient times for grooming purposes also served other purposes, such as for psychologically preparing for battle and medicinally.
Although the importance of male grooming seemingly declined up until the 20th century, it has certainly made a great comeback in today's society. There are a variety of male grooming products available on the market today, most of which bring in a huge profit to the companies behind them. This is likely due to our modern obsession with looks and comparing ourselves with the models and celebrities that we see every day in the media.
With such a huge variety of male grooming products available, it can be difficult to choose between different products and brands to suit one's specific needs. Most men today make products such as cologne, shaving cream, and deodorant a necessity, and rightly so. It would be considered quite unhygienic to not use deodorant every day or shave your facial hair on a regular basis (unless you're purposely attempting to grow a beard, in which case the hygiene involved is with taking proper care of the beard).
However, some available products are not considered necessities among the majority of men, and are meant to suit the specific needs of some men. For example, medicated soap for the treatment of acne and cream for dry and/or itchy skin are not commonly used except by men with these conditions.
Regardless, grooming is an essential part of a man's life in today's world, and is universally practiced at least to some extent. Whether through trimming facial/body hair, moisturizing the skin, or whatever grooming methods are used, it is all done for one purpose: to look attractive. Some might find it unfortunate that looks mean so much in modern society, but there's nothing wrong with adhering to the standard of looking good.
Therefore, whether you're a man or woman, personal grooming, hygiene, and taking care of yourself in general should be a top priority in your life.

Here's to the Male Grooming Boom
Male grooming is de rigueur in today's modern society, which requires that men pay as much attention to their appearance as women do. As a result, the market in male grooming products is booming. Today, there are exclusive moisturizers, shaving creams and foams, shampoos, conditioners, perfumes, deodorants, hair styling compounds and even anti wrinkle creams designed and manufactured especially for men. These sell like hot cakes, and the sales graphs are astounding - in Britain, for example, men spend as much as £1.3 billion a year on male grooming products. Of course, the market for male grooming products and services has become extremely competitive as a result. Companies are vying with each other to provide not only quality but also cost-effectiveness. As a result, the best men's skin care products are not necessarily the most expensive ones.
Walk into any men's boutique and you will be confronted by an amazing array of male grooming products. It is no longer considered sissy for men to use products such as face masks and exfoliating compounds, and a growing number of male grooming salons stock and use them extensively. In fact, men can now avail of services such as facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures - and, yes, even Botox treatment. Evidently, the modern male is determined to catch up with the female of the species when it comes to looking and feeling great.
Is male grooming only about increasing vanity levels among men? Not necessarily. In a fast-faced and highly competitive world, one's appearance is of great importance - regardless of gender. Another factor is wellbeing - men want to take care of themselves so that they feel good about themselves. And with such a variety of male skin care products and services at his disposal, why should modern man not pamper himself?
The majority of these men tend to be aged below 40, but this does not mean that older men are not snapping up men's skin care products with equal fervour. Most men who buy male skin care products tend to be in the upper income bracket, live in metros, visit gyms to stay fit and are ambitious. They are confident, believe that they can get what they want and are not afraid to indulge themselves. Male grooming is all about the New Male, and the New Male is willing to go beyond traditional male postures and concepts. To sum up, self-care is no longer the exclusive domain of women. Men are now on top of the trend, as well.
